1.Who we are
Sprint Lab System (“SLS”, “we”, “us”) is a sprint and performance coaching content brand operated jointly by Daniel Scott Allan and Daniel Martin, 88 The Oval, Bath, BA2 2HE, United Kingdom.
Because we run SLS together and jointly decide how and why personal information is used, we are joint controllers of the personal information described in this policy. We share responsibility for looking after it, and you can raise any privacy question, request or complaint with either of us through one central contact point:
For general (non-privacy) questions you can also use hi@sprintlabsystem.com.
2.What this policy covers
This policy explains what personal information we collect when you interact with SLS — on Instagram, on this website, as an email subscriber, or as a customer — and how we use it, who we share it with, how long we keep it, and the rights you have under UK data protection law.
3.The information we collect
When you interact with us on Instagram
If you comment a trigger word (such as “BLUEPRINT”) on one of our Instagram posts or Reels, our automation system processes that interaction through Instagram’s platform so we can reply to you by DM with the Blueprint you asked for. The information involved may include:
- your Instagram-scoped user ID (the identifier Instagram assigns to your account for our integration) and, where available, your Instagram username;
- the ID and text of your comment, and the trigger word or request it contained;
- the date and time of your request;
- which Reel, post, campaign or automation your request related to;
- whether a “follow gate” applied (i.e. whether we asked you to follow the account before receiving the link) and its outcome;
- whether our reply and the Blueprint link were successfully delivered;
- limited operational and error logs generated while handling the request;
- the connection information for our own Instagram account that the integration needs in order to work.
What we do not get from Instagram: we do not receive your email address, your password, or access to your account. We also do not build a person-level link between your Instagram identity and any email address you may later give us — the two are deliberately kept separate, and our attribution works at the level of Reels, posts and channels, not individual people.
When you sign up for a Blueprint by email
Our sign-up forms say what the offer is: when you enter your email, you are requesting the free Blueprint plus ongoing SLS sprint-training emails — practical tips, research, updates and occasional offers — which you can unsubscribe from at any time. When you sign up, your details are sent to Kit, the email platform we use, including:
- your email address;
- your subscriber record details in Kit (such as a subscriber ID, subscription status and timestamps, which sign-up form you used, and a reference to the version of the sign-up wording shown to you);
- attribution information from the page you signed up on — which campaign, source and Reel or post the link came from (for links sent by Instagram DM this includes the Reel’s shortcode; sign-ups from our bio link are simply recorded as “link_in_bio”), and which page you signed up on.
This attribution tells us which content brought subscribers in general. It does not tell us which individual Instagram commenter a given subscriber is.
When you buy the Sprint Recovery Blueprint
Purchases are made through Kit’s hosted checkout. Kit handles the payment process; we do not receive or store your full card details. We receive the information needed to fulfil and support your purchase, such as your email address, what you bought, and the transaction details Kit makes available to us.
When you use this website
Our website is a simple static site. It does not require an account and does not use advertising or cross-site tracking technologies. We use cookieless page-visit counting (see ‘Website analytics’ below). For cookies, see section 8 (Cookies and similar technologies).
If you arrive from one of our emails, or open a free Blueprint link we sent you: those links carry your subscriber number. We use it to record, against your subscription, which of our pages you viewed, which buttons you used (for example a buy button, a question in the FAQ, or a “tell me when it opens” button) and whether you downloaded the Blueprint. We do not record this for visitors who arrive any other way.
When you contact us
If you email us, we will have your email address and whatever you choose to tell us, which we use to respond to you.
4.How we use your information, and our lawful bases
UK data protection law requires us to have a lawful basis for each purpose. Ours are:
Responding to your Instagram request and delivering the Blueprint you asked for. When you comment a trigger word, you are asking us for something specific, and we process your information to respond — including operating the follow gate and confirming delivery. Lawful basis: our legitimate interests in responding to a request you initiated and operating the SLS service and funnel.
Sending you the Blueprint and the SLS emails you signed up for. The sign-up offer states that you will receive the requested Blueprint plus the described SLS sprint-training emails — practical tips, research, updates and occasional offers. We use your email address to deliver that requested email relationship, and we stay within what the sign-up describes: we will not use your address for unrelated marketing you have not been told about. Every email includes an unsubscribe link, and if you unsubscribe or object to direct marketing (see section 10), we stop. Lawful basis: for delivering the Blueprint you asked for, our legitimate interests in responding to your specific request; for the SLS sprint-training (marketing) emails, your consent, given when you submit the sign-up form. You can withdraw that consent at any time by unsubscribing.
Providing products you purchase. If you buy the Sprint Recovery Blueprint, we process your information to deliver it, provide access, and handle guarantee or refund requests. Lawful basis: performance of a contract with you, or steps taken at your request before entering one.
Measuring and improving our content and funnel. We analyse which Reels, posts, campaigns and pages generate engagement, Blueprint requests and subscribers, troubleshoot problems, keep our systems secure, and improve how SLS works. Wherever practical we do this with aggregated information; where identifiable records are involved (such as Instagram request records), we use them proportionately for these operational purposes. We do not make automated decisions with legal or similarly significant effects about anyone. Lawful basis: our legitimate interests in understanding and improving our content, operating reliably, and keeping our systems secure.
Making our emails more relevant to you. If you are a subscriber and arrive from one of our emails or a free Blueprint link, we use the page views, button use and downloads described in section 3 to decide which of our emails to send you, for example sending a follow-up about a product you looked at, or not sending you something you have already seen. This is a limited form of profiling: it affects only which SLS emails you receive. Lawful basis: our legitimate interests in sending subscribers emails that are relevant to them. You can switch it off at any time by unsubscribing, or by emailing hi@sprintlabsystem.com and asking us to stop, and we will also delete what we have recorded.
Complying with the law. Where we are legally required to keep or disclose certain information — for example tax and accounting records relating to sales — we do so. Lawful basis: legal obligation.
5.Do you have to give us your information?
You are free not to interact with SLS at all. But if you choose to use certain parts of it, some information is genuinely necessary: we need an email address to send you the Blueprint and the SLS emails that the sign-up describes, we need the details involved in a purchase to fulfil it, and we can only respond to a message or an Instagram request using the information that comes with it. What you are never locked into is staying subscribed — you can unsubscribe from SLS emails at any time, including immediately after receiving your Blueprint, and unsubscribing does not take the Blueprint away.
6.Who we share information with
We do not sell your personal information. We use the following platforms and service providers to operate SLS:
- Meta (Instagram) — the platform through which Instagram comments, follows and DMs happen. As the platform provider, Meta also processes information about your Instagram activity under its own privacy policy.
- Kit — our email and subscriber platform, and the checkout provider for paid products.
- Cloudflare — hosts and delivers this website.
- Railway — hosting for our self-hosted automation infrastructure (the system that processes Instagram comment requests).
- Turso (libSQL) — infrastructure for our analytics database, as we bring it online.
Where these providers handle personal information in connection with SLS, they do so under their applicable terms and data-protection commitments, and they may use their own subprocessors. We may also share information where the law requires it, or with professional advisers where genuinely necessary.
7.International transfers
Some of our service providers process data outside the United Kingdom. Where that happens, and where safeguards are required, transfers are handled using safeguards recognised by applicable UK data protection law — such as UK adequacy regulations or appropriate contractual transfer mechanisms provided by the relevant service provider.
8.Cookies and similar technologies
SLS does not use advertising pixels, session recording or third-party tracking scripts on this website; the only analytics are Cloudflare Web Analytics and the anonymous first-party counting described below. We do not use browser storage (such as localStorage or sessionStorage) for campaign attribution. Attribution works by reading the parameters already present in the link you clicked when you submit a sign-up form — nothing is stored on your device for this.
Cloudflare, which delivers this website, may use strictly necessary cookies or similar technologies for security, traffic protection or delivery of the site. These are not used by SLS for advertising or behavioural profiling.
Our pages load their fonts from Google Fonts, which means your browser requests those font files from Google and Google receives your IP address in that request, as with any web resource. No cookies are involved.
Website analytics
We use Cloudflare Web Analytics to count page visits and see which pages are read. It does not use cookies, does not track you across other websites, and does not collect personal data that identifies you.
Page interaction counts: our site records anonymous interactions — which sections are viewed, how far pages are scrolled and which buttons are clicked — to improve our pages. These records contain no cookies, names, email addresses or IP addresses, and are deleted after 13 months.
If you arrive from one of our emails or a free Blueprint link: the link carries your subscriber number, which we read from the link itself each time. No cookies are set and nothing is stored on your device. We record which of our pages you viewed, which buttons you used and whether you downloaded the Blueprint, linked to your subscription, to make our emails more relevant. These records are deleted after 13 months. If your browser sends a Global Privacy Control signal, we record none of this. To switch it off, unsubscribe or email hi@sprintlabsystem.com.
Based on the technologies actually implemented on this site, no consent banner for non-essential cookies is currently required — which is why you will not see one.
9.How long we keep information
We keep personal information only as long as we reasonably need it, rather than for arbitrary fixed periods:
- Email subscriber information is kept while you remain a subscriber and while needed to operate our relationship with you. If you unsubscribe, we may keep a minimal suppression record so that we do not accidentally contact you again.
- Instagram request and funnel records are kept only while reasonably needed to operate, secure, troubleshoot and analyse the SLS funnel, after which they are deleted or anonymised.
- Records of what subscribers did on our site after arriving from an email are deleted after 13 months, or sooner if you ask.
- Aggregated or genuinely anonymised analytics (which no longer identify anyone) may be kept longer.
- Purchase, legal and accounting records are kept where and for as long as the law requires.
If you ask us to delete your information (see section 10 and our Data Deletion Instructions), we will act on that request as the law provides.
10.Your rights
Under UK data protection law you have the right to:
- Access — ask for a copy of the personal information we hold about you;
- Correction — ask us to fix inaccurate or incomplete information;
- Deletion — ask us to erase your information (our Data Deletion Instructions explain the quickest route);
- Restriction — ask us to limit how we use your information in certain situations;
- Objection — object to processing based on our legitimate interests; and object at any time to direct marketing, in which case we will stop — this right is absolute, and the unsubscribe link in any of our emails is the fastest way to use it;
- Portability — where processing is based on consent or contract and carried out by automated means, receive certain information in a portable format;
- Withdraw consent — where any processing relies on your consent, withdraw it at any time without affecting what was lawfully done before.
To use any of these rights, email hi@sprintlabsystem.com. We may need to ask for limited additional information to verify who you are. We will respond without undue delay and normally within one month. Exercising your rights is free of charge except in the limited circumstances where the law allows otherwise.
11.Complaints about how we handle your data
If you believe we have mishandled your personal information, you can make a data protection complaint by emailing hi@sprintlabsystem.com. Please describe the issue and, if it helps, tell us what outcome you are looking for.
A complaint is different from a rights request (such as asking for access to or deletion of your data, which section 10 covers) — a complaint is about something you think we have got wrong. One email can contain both, and we will treat each part appropriately.
When you complain, we will:
- acknowledge your complaint within 30 days of receiving it;
- investigate it appropriately and without undue delay;
- keep you reasonably informed while we look into it; and
- tell you the outcome without undue delay.
You also have the right to complain at any time to the UK’s data protection regulator, the Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) — ico.org.uk, helpline 0303 123 1113 — whether or not you complain to us first, though we would welcome the chance to put things right.
12.Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as SLS develops or the law changes. The “Last updated” date at the top shows the current version, and significant changes will be reflected on this page.
